Description
Babesiosis is an infectious disease caused by Babesia parasites, which invade red blood cells. Transmission occurs primarily via ticks, but can also occur congenitally or through contaminated blood transfusion. Clinical presentation may resemble Lyme disease and often begins with high fever and chills. Severe or life-threatening courses are possible in asplenic, elderly and immunocompromised patients.

Note
For optimal results always use the RealLine Internal Control. If not using RealLine extraction kits, order the RealLine Internal Control (REF VBC8881-R) separately.

Formats
Str-format: Ready‑Mastermix is lyophilized in 0.2 ml white tubes arranged in a plate. Tubes can be separated individually. Add 50 µl of extracted DNA/RNA to each tube, seal with PCR foil or caps and run the assay. Tubes are regular-profile and compatible with RealLine Cyclers, Bio-Rad cyclers and others.
