DescriptionFetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is the liquid fraction of blood depleted of cellular components and coagulation factors. It is obtained after centrifugation of aseptically collected, coagulated fetal bovine blood. Sterile FBS Biopharm is produced by triple 0.1 µm filtration.
FBS contains proteins, growth factors and attachment factors that support maintenance, proliferation and adhesion of eukaryotic cells in vitro. FBS Biopharm is intended for biopharmaceutical production, vaccine manufacturing and applications requiring documented, EDQM-certified raw materials.
All batches are tested for endotoxin and mycoplasma, specific viral markers (e.g. BVD), hemoglobin and total protein levels, and cell culture performance.
Origin & CertificationOrigin: South America. EDQM certified. The serum is collected or imported and processed in compliance with European regulations. Biowest guarantees geographic origin. Alternative packagings available on request.
