DescriptionFetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is the liquid fraction of blood depleted of the cellular fraction and clotting factors. It is obtained by centrifugation of aseptically collected coagulated fetal bovine blood and sterile-filtered by triple 0.1 µm filtration.
Use and propertiesFBS supplies proteins, attachment factors and growth factors to support maintenance and proliferation of eukaryotic cells in vitro. It enhances cell adhesion by creating a coating effect on plasticware. All batches are tested for endotoxin, mycoplasma, specific viruses (BVD), hemoglobin, total protein and cell culture performance.
