Solution 17 – Blood Lysis Buffer is used for sample preparation prior to enumerating dead and viable leukocytes in blood samples, such as EDTA-treated whole blood, buffy coats, and bone marrow. Solution 17 – Blood Lysis Buffer is designed for preferential lysis of erythrocytes and simultaneous staining of leukocytes in blood samples. The solution contains two different dyes: acridine orange stain all nucleated cells and 4’,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) stains nonviable cells only.
