Product Info
AbsoClear® Comfort is composed of transparent clear acrylic hydrogel surrounded by an extra polyurethane adhesive film which extends to act as an adhesive border. It can be applied without fixation tape or secondary fixation dressing.

How to Use

• Open pouch and remove sterile dressing.
• Peel the liner from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface. If needed, the film border may be trimmed before the paper frame is removed.
• Center the dressing over the wound/surgical incision. Gently press the adhesive side down, smoothing from the center outward. Avoid stretching the dressing or the skin.
• (If frame style) slowly remove the frame while smoothing the film border and applying firm pressure to ensure good adhesion.
• (If wave-cut support paper) stretch the dressing slightly and remove the supporting paper while smoothing the film border and applying firm pressure to ensure good adhesion.

Indications

• Partial and full thickness dermal ulcers
• Skin tears
• Pressure ulcers
• Superficial wounds and abrasions
• Superficial and partial-thickness burns
• Donor sites
• Clean, closed approximated surgical incisions or laparoscopic incisions
• Protective dressing for at-risk or intact skin beginning to show damage from friction or shear

Contraindications

• Known sensitivity to the acrylic polymers — discontinue use
• Third degree burns and highly exuding wounds — do not use

Precautions

• Treatment of any wound should be part of a well-defined plan under the supervision of a health care professional.
• Observe the wound for signs of infection (fever, increased pain, redness, bleeding, swelling, unusual odor, increased or cloudy/foul drainage) and consult a health care professional if noted.
• AbsoClear® dressings may be used on infected wounds only under the care of a health care professional.
• If the wound does not begin to show signs of healing or unexpected symptoms occur, consult a health care professional.
• During removal for surgical incisions with closure devices (adhesive strips, sutures, staples), take extra caution to avoid removal of closure devices.
• Dispose of the medical device following applicable local regulations to minimize infection hazard or environmental pollution.
