Description

Product Introduction
Our lead glass is produced from a high-lead optical glass formulation containing approximately 20% PbO. Designed for medical radiation-shielding applications, it combines very high light transmittance with a high specific gravity, chemical stability and a pinhole-free, bubble-free structure for long service life and reliable visibility.

Product Performance
  • Commonly used for radiation-shielded observation windows, control-room glazing and X-ray protection partitions.
  • Manufactured to meet cleanliness and hygienic standards required in hospitals and clinical facilities.
  • Formulated by integrating a high proportion of lead oxide into the glass melt to achieve required shielding levels.
  • Optically clear, free of impurities and air inclusions to ensure undistorted viewing.
  • Rigid structure with stable mechanical properties suitable for framed installations and protective panels.
  • Quality-controlled production with inspection and test reports available; compliant with protective standards for diagnostic X-ray environments.

Technical Parameters
Shielding Lead Equivalent: 2–20 mmPb (customizable)
Light Transmittance: Above 98%
Dimensions: Custom sizes available on request
Main Composition: Glass melt blended with high content of lead oxide (approx. 20% PbO)
Glass Characteristics: High hardness and strong compressive resistance

Application Fields
  • Department of Radiology: Imaging diagnosis and interventional procedures using X-rays or gamma rays require shielded observation windows and partitions for operator safety and patient monitoring.
  • Department of Radiation Oncology: Localized radiotherapy installations use shielding glass for control-room viewing and beamline observation across photon and particle therapy units.
  • Department of Nuclear Medicine: Diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine environments employ shielded glazing for imaging rooms, hot labs and dispensing areas.
