Description

Product introduction
Barium sulfate bricks are manufactured from multiple oxides and sulfates, cement, selected rare-earth additives and reinforced with plant fibers. They are designed for fixed radiation shielding applications in medical environments and renovation projects requiring lead-equivalent protection.

Product performance
  • Stable physical and chemical performance; suitable for surface finishing; fire-resistant, moisture-resistant, oxidation-resistant and impact-resistant; non-toxic and environmentally acceptable. Applicable for hospitals and other sites requiring radiation protection renovation.
  • High specific gravity yields effective radiation attenuation. On-site construction and installation must follow process specifications to ensure shielding performance meets design requirements.
  • Halogen-free, low-smoke, non-dripping, acid-resistant and odorless; dimensionally stable with no expansion, high decomposition temperature and no corrosive effect on adjacent facilities—suitable for halogen-free flame-retardant and radiation shielding applications.

Technical parameters
  • Standard dimensions: 120 mm × 240 mm × 50 mm
  • Barium content: ≥98%
  • Density: 4080 kg/m³
  • Color & shape: dark gray, brick-shaped
  • Radiation shielding equivalent: 9.8 mm Pb

Application fields
  • Department of Radiology: Imaging diagnostics using X-ray, gamma and other ionizing radiation to obtain internal anatomical and pathological information.
  • Department of Radiation Oncology: Localized therapeutic applications using ionizing radiation (X-rays, electron beams, particle beams) for cancer treatment.
  • Department of Nuclear Medicine: Diagnosis and treatment based on nuclear medicine techniques integrating imaging, therapy, research and teaching.
