Overview
Premisut PGCL suture (Poliglecaprone-25) is a sterile synthetic monofilament absorbable surgical suture manufactured from a copolymer of glycolide and ε-caprolactone. Available in undyed (beige) and dyed (violet, dyed with D&C Violet No 2). Designed for clinical use when short-term wound support and absorbability are required.

Indications
Indicated for tissue approximation and ligation in general soft tissue surgical procedures where an absorbable suture providing short-term tensile support is appropriate.

Absorption and tissue reaction
Following implantation Premisut PGCL elicits a minimal initial inflammatory response and is progressively replaced by fibrous connective tissue. Absorption occurs by hydrolytic degradation of the Poliglecaprone-25 copolymer into monomeric components that are metabolized and eliminated. This process results in a progressive loss of tensile strength followed by loss of mass.

Technical features such as coating, reported tensile properties, needle material and packaging format may be adapted for different markets. Product is supplied sterile and packaged according to regulatory and market requirements.
