SaberVet Canine Distemper Virus Antibody Rapid Test offered by Antigenne is a lateral flow immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of Canine Distemper Virus Antibody(CDV Ab) in whole blood, serum or plasma samples. Description Canine distemper virus (CDV) is a highly contagious and lethal virus that primarily infects dogs and other mammals. The virus is spread by airborne droplets and direct contact, has a wide host range, and poses a serious threat to the health of dogs. Symptoms of Canine Distemper Virus Symptoms of canine distemper virus infection are varied and complex, and are usually divided into acute and chronic phases. Symptoms may involve multiple systems, including the respiratory system, digestive system, nervous system and skin. Respiratory symptoms: coughing, sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, difficulty breathing. Digestive system symptoms: vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite. Neurological symptoms: spasms, convulsions, ataxia (unsteady gait), behavioral abnormalities such as anxiety, increased aggression. Skin symptoms: skin lesions such as scleroderma, eye lesions such as conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers. Prevention and treatment of canine distemper virus Prevention and control of canine distemper virus infection mainly rely on preventive inoculation and good feeding management. Vaccination: Vaccination of dogs against canine distemper virus is the most effective measure to prevent the disease. Usually, basic immunization is carried out when the dogs are young and booster shots are given on time.
