Canine distemper virus (CDV) is a highly contagious and lethal virus that primarily infects dogs and other mammals. The virus is spread by airborne droplets and direct contact, has a wide host range, and poses a serious threat to the health of dogs.
Symptoms of Canine Distemper Virus
Symptoms of canine distemper virus infection are varied and complex, and are usually divided into acute and chronic phases. Symptoms may involve multiple systems, including the respiratory system, digestive system, nervous system and skin.
Respiratory symptoms: coughing, sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, difficulty breathing.
