Description
The Chlamydia trachomatis antigen rapid test kit is a lateral-flow visual immunoassay for qualitative detection of Chlamydia trachomatis antigen in female endocervical swabs, male urethral swabs and urine specimens. The kit is intended as an aid to clinical diagnosis in laboratory and point-of-care settings.

Principle
The test uses antibodies conjugated to colored particles on a membrane strip. After specimen extraction, the sample is added to the sample well and migrates by capillary action. If C. trachomatis antigen is present above the detection threshold, a colored band appears at the test (T) window; absence of the band indicates a negative result. A colored control (C) band must appear to validate the test.
