Overview
The Sialidase activity test kit S0006 is intended for rapid diagnosis and treatment evaluation of bacterial vaginosis (BV) by detecting sialidase enzyme activity in vaginal secretions. It is designed for point-of-care or laboratory screening with a reported correlation of approximately 92% with the Amsel gold standard.

Principle
Bacterial vaginosis results from a shift in the vaginal microbiota with decreased lactobacilli and increased anaerobic bacteria (e.g., Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides, Mobiluncus, Prevotella, Mycoplasma hominis). Many BV-associated bacteria produce sialidase; the kit detects sialidase enzyme activity as an indicator of BV, enabling rapid and practical screening.

• BV extracting liquid — 3 ml × 1 bottle

Instructions for use

• 1) Open the tube with a swab, add 3 drops of extracting liquid to the cotton head and close the tube.
• 2) Incubate the tube at 35–37°C for 15–20 minutes.
• Attention: a) Ensure the cotton head is wetted by the extracting liquid but not in excess.
• b) Read the result within 30 minutes; readings after 30 minutes may be invalid.

Additional product notes
The kit provides a rapid, simple and sensitive method to detect sialidase activity associated with BV. Use appropriate specimen collection and follow incubation and reading time windows to ensure valid results. Correlation with the Amsel method has been reported at approximately 92%.
