Flat, paper-plastic sterilization rolls allow for the sterilization and safe storage of porous materials, surgical drapes, linens, and flat medical instruments. Rolls are available in multiple sizes, starting from a single unit.
STERIM® sterilization rolls consist of a paper side made from special medical-grade paper and an 8-layer CPPPT polyester–polypropylene composite. Thanks to the exceptional properties of these materials, the 3-channel factory seal is durable and flexible, while ensuring easy, lint-free opening of the packaging.
Along the factory seal line of the sterilization roll, Type 1 chemical indicators for STEAM, EO, and FORM sterilization are placed. They provide clear information on indicator color change before and after sterilization, as well as essential technical details such as LOT number, production date, and size. Information is available in four languages.
After placing cleaned, disinfected, and dried instruments inside the roll — and optionally securing sharp tips to prevent package damage — the roll is completely sealed with a heat sealer. A chemical test type 4, 5, or 6 should also be included in the package.
The recommended sealing temperature is 150–200°C, depending on the heat sealer model.
