Regular verification of cleaning efficiency is essential in every salon and medical facility preparing instruments and accessories for reuse. Washing, drying, and disinfecting instruments is a critical step during which instruments must be thoroughly cleaned of tissue residues, blood, bodily fluids, or other contaminants. Only properly cleaned equipment can then be sterilized in an autoclave. STERIM® CLEAN CONTROL cleaning tests consist of a plastic strip coated with a dark-red biological indicator substance, simulating typical contamination found on medical instruments. These cleaning tests are suitable for use in ultrasonic washers commonly used in beauty salons, podiatry clinics, veterinary offices, and many other facilities. The test strip can also be placed in a special holder simulating critical conditions in a sensitive area of the washer-disinfector chamber. After the cleaning cycle, the STERIM® CLEAN CONTROL test is evaluated. Complete removal of the indicator substance confirms the correct cleaning process. Any remaining residue in the test area indicates insufficient cleaning. The cleaning control test should be documented as proof of proper cleaning. Designed for ultrasonic washers with parameters of 25–1000 W and frequency 25–50 kHz. Recommended average frequency: 35 kHz.
