Description

Overview
Systemair KA units are a modular air handling solution engineered for flexibility and energy-efficient operation. Each module is optimized for reliable performance and the series delivers Eurovent‑certified results.

Key features
  • Modular design with multiple sizes
  • Standard, Hygienic or Corrosion‑resistant executions
  • Indoor and outdoor installation options
  • Wide range of applications (commercial, industrial, medical areas)
  • Fully automatic operation with integrated controls
  • Selection and calculation via airCalc++

Completely modular
KA units are fully modular, offered in 46 standard sizes plus 14 additional sizes for larger units to match airflow and installation requirements.

Flexible application
Available in standard, hygienic and corrosion‑resistant executions to suit ventilation needs across building types and processes.

Indoor/outdoor installation
Units are suitable for indoor and outdoor installation and are delivered with a factory‑integrated control system.

Certified performance
Calculated and measured performance values are Eurovent‑certified. Hygienic versions are certified by Hygiene‑Institut des Ruhrgebiets, Gelsenkirchen.

Quality and compliance
Manufactured in accordance with Ecodesign Directive, Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive and applicable standards such as EN 1886, EN 13053 and EN 16798‑3.

  • Mechanical properties in accordance with EN 1886:
  • Thermal transmittance class T2
  • Thermal bridging class TB2 / TB3
  • Mechanical strength casing class D1
  • Casing air leakage class L1 / L2

Doors and access
Doors with hinges and removable panels provide access to internal components for maintenance and inspection.

Base frame
The galvanized steel base frame protects against corrosion and damage, provides structural rigidity and facilitates transport and installation. Options include:
  • 125 mm base frame (no feet)
  • 250 mm base frame (no feet)
  • 125 mm base frame with 110–175 mm adjustable feet
The base frame is supplied with lifting brackets. An optional 125 mm intermediate base frame is available for larger sizes.

Handles and hinges
Durable hinges and handles improve service life, safety and casing airtightness.

Panels
Double‑shell insulated panels with interrupted thermal bridge are bolted to the frame from outside.

Insulation
  • Material: rockwool
  • Thickness: 50 mm
  • Density: 100 kg/m3
  • Non‑combustible, class A1 (EN 13501‑1)

Jackets and built‑in element materials
  • ZnAlMg coated steel
  • Galvanized prepainted steel sheet RAL 9006
  • Stainless steel AISI 304 (No. 1.4301)
  • Stainless steel AISI 316L (No. 1.4404)

Frame profiles and corners
Aluminium profile frame (AlMgSi, EN AW‑6060) with rounded nylon corners (PA6+GF20%). Options: interrupted thermal bridge, painted RAL9006 or anodized aluminium.

Joints and sealing tapes
Self‑adhesive sealing tape is used for fixed panel joints; doors use self‑adhesive or foamed tape depending on execution. All sealing materials are closed‑cell and resistant to mould and microorganisms. Sealing options include:
  • Sealant applied to bottom openings of internal casing (standard)
  • Sealant applied to all fixed internal panel openings (hygienic)
  • Sealant applied to all fixed external panel openings (outdoor)

KA — Standard
Standard units comply with general technical, safety and hygienic requirements for ventilation of residential, educational, commercial and industrial buildings.

KA — Hygienik
Hygienic units meet additional requirements for medical and other critical environments and are certified by Hygiene‑Institut des Ruhrgebiets according to DIN 1946‑4, VDI 6022‑1, ÖNORM H6021, ÖNORM H6020, VDI 3803‑1 and SWKI VA104‑01 / SWKI VA105‑01.

Construction, control and selection
  • Construction: Casing composed of mounting frame, panels and base frame; dimensions depend on airflow, geometry and built‑in elements; interior and exposed elements have smooth or rounded edges.
  • Control: KA control system allows parameter adjustment via handheld terminal or building management system (computer/smartphone).
  • Selection: airCalc++ provides quick selection, thermodynamic calculations and technical data for modules, heat recovery, coils, energy consumption, acoustics, drawings, dimensions and weights, and Mollier diagrams.
