OverviewInfusion therapies are widely used in clinical practice for parenteral nutrition, volume replacement and drug administration. Consistent use of CODAN I.V.STAR® filters and filter systems removes microorganisms, particles and air from infusion lines, supporting hygiene and patient safety in sensitive departments such as neonatology, intensive care and for immunosuppressed patients.
Product range- I.V.STAR®: 0.2 µm hydrophilic polyether sulfone (PES) membrane for retention of particles and microorganisms and for air elimination. Available filter surface areas: 1.6 cm², 4.5 cm² and 10 cm². Housing colour: transparent white.
- I.V.STAR® PLUS: 0.2 µm hydrophilic PES membrane, additionally positively charged to retain endotoxins. Available surface areas: 1.6 cm² and 10 cm². Housing colour: transparent green.
- I.V.STAR® F: 1.2 µm hydrophilic PES membrane for filtration of lipid solutions and lipid-containing medications. Available surface areas: 1.6 cm², 4.5 cm² and 10 cm². Housing colour: transparent blue.
Additional featuresAll CODAN I.V.STAR® models include a 0.02 µm hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane for filter venting. Filters can be integrated into customer-specific infusion set configurations and are compatible with common infusion pumps.
