OverviewCODAN Spikes and associated sets provide needle‑free solutions for manual withdrawal, transfer, preparation and administration of pharmaceuticals and cytostatics. The programme is designed to reduce needlestick risks, prevent contamination and streamline clinical and pharmacy workflows, from very small vials to large container withdrawal.
Product families and main functions- CODAN Spikes: compact, needle‑free devices for manual preparation, withdrawal or transfer of drugs and solvent solutions; equipped with a hydrophobic 0.2 µm air filter to protect users from aerosols and to prevent microbial contamination.
- CODAN MicroSpikes: designed for very small medication vials (e.g. vaccine preparation); include an integrated 0.2 µm hydrophobic filter to ensure sterile aeration/venting and reliable aerosol retention.
- Chemoprotect® Spikes: variants with an additional 5 µm fluid filter for retention of large particles (e.g. plug fragments, glass splinters).
- Spikes are available with different connection options (Luer‑Lock, SWAN‑LOCK® needle‑free adapter) for multi‑dose applications and in multiple packaging units.
- TAKE SET: systems enabling measured withdrawal of consecutive specific amounts from large containers into one or several syringes.
- Koppelsystems: secondary‑line systems to prepare and administer medication units (bottles or bags) connected to the double Y‑site ports of the main infusion set.
- Mix‑Ad Sets: closed systems for dissolution of dried substances (e.g. antibiotics) and subsequent administration in a single workflow, for critical medications requiring secure handling.
- Compounding sets: single‑use transfer systems for preparation and mixing of infusion solutions (e.g. total parenteral nutrition) compatible with pharmacy compounders.
