Description

The A5 is a passive-training hand rehabilitation exoskeleton for finger and wrist rehabilitation that simulates human finger and wrist movement rules in real time and runs within a computer-based virtual training environment.

Main functions
  • Passive training modes for single finger, multiple fingers, all fingers, wrist only, or combined fingers and wrist.
  • Integrated virtual-game environment to support engagement during repetitive training.
  • Session query and printing functions for training feedback and documentation.
  • Hand exoskeleton supplied in two sets (left and right) to support unilateral or bilateral treatment.

Therapeutic effect
  • Supports recovery of hand function and helps prevent muscle atrophy.
  • Improves hand muscle strength and endurance through progressive training protocols.
  • Enhances coordination of individual finger joints.
  • Feedback-based training promotes cortical reorganization and recruitment of compensatory motor areas to aid restoration of hand movement control.

Main indications
  • Rehabilitation of joint function after hand and wrist injuries.
  • Recovery of joint stiffness and function after hand surgery.
  • Training of hand and wrist activities of daily living (ADL) after central nervous system injury.

Contraindications
  • Bony malignancy, severe deformation of joint surfaces, spastic paralysis, unstable fractures, uncontrolled infection, and other conditions that contraindicate passive mobilization.

Features
  • Wrist control: adjustable wrist range of motion; ability to fix the wrist at an angular position to train fingers alone or to train wrist and fingers simultaneously.
  • Composite training: selectable combinations of finger and wrist joint targets to adapt to different patient conditions and rehabilitation goals.
  • Multiple integrated training methods and protocols for varied clinical scenarios.
  • Software functions for virtual games, data query and printout to support monitoring and documentation of progress.
