Description

Product Overview
The Giardia Ag Test is a lateral-flow rapid immunochromatographic assay for qualitative detection of Giardia antigen in canine and feline feces or vomit specimens. Assay time: 5-10 minutes; interpretation within 10 minutes.

Introduction
Giardiasis is a zoonotic intestinal parasitic infection affecting the small intestine of mammals. Cysts shed in feces resist environmental stress and transmit via direct contact, water or food. Adult animals may be asymptomatic carriers; juveniles often present diarrhea, weight loss, dehydration and decreased appetite. Rapid on-site detection supports clinical decisions and infection control.

Product Details
Product Name: Giardia antigen Test
Denomination (model): Giardia Ag Test
Specimen: feces or vomit specimen
Assay time: 5-10 minutes (read result within 10 minutes)
MOQ: 800 test kits
Delivery time: 1 week after payment
Packing: 10 test kits / packing box
Shelf life: 18 months

Benefits
  • Quick one-step lateral-flow assay for point-of-care screening.
  • Simple procedure suitable for clinics and field use without specialised laboratory equipment.
  • Fast result turnaround to support treatment and biosecurity decisions.
  • High throughput potential when combined with rapid workflow (short per-sample handling time).
  • Portable test format enabling on-site testing and remote quality control integration.
  • Sensitivity and specificity comparable to enzyme-based reference methods.

Components
  • Individual test devices
  • Droppers
  • Single reagent buffer
  • Instructions for use (IFU)

Principle
The test uses a sandwich lateral-flow immunochromatographic format. When the prepared sample is applied, it migrates along the strip and binds to pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. Presence of Giardia antigen produces a visible T (test) line; a C (control) line must appear to validate the result.

Storage and stability
Store kit at 2-30°C. Do not freeze. Protect from direct sunlight. Stable until the expiration date printed on the label (18 months).

Test Procedure
  • Collect fresh feces or vomit with the supplied swab from the animal or sample source.
  • Insert swab into the buffer tube and agitate to extract the specimen.
  • Open the test device foil pouch and place the device horizontally.
  • Add 3 drops of the extracted sample into the sample well (S) using the dropper.
  • Read the result after 5-10 minutes; results read after 10 minutes are invalid.

Interpretation of Assay Result
  • Positive (+): Both C and T lines visible (T may be faint).
  • Negative (-): Only C line visible; no T line.
  • Invalid: No C line visible irrespective of T line; repeat test with new device.

Clinical Data
Canine: relative sensitivity 98.6% — relative specificity 96.3%
Feline: relative sensitivity 98.1% — relative specificity 100.0%
