Overview
The P-SS-44 head immobilizing pillow is designed for safe immobilization of the head and cervical spine when the patient cannot maintain position independently. Intended for suspected fractures and for use during diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT) because the product contains no aluminium components. Materials are chosen for hygiene, disinfectability and imaging compatibility.

Key functional features

• Occipital cushion reduces pressure on the occiput and lowers risk of pressure sores while improving patient comfort
• Adjustable side wedges relieve pressure on bony prominences and adapt to head width/circumference via Velcro
• Perforations in wedges preserve auditory and verbal contact with the patient
• Stabilizing straps prevent uncontrolled involuntary flexion and include cushions to off-load frontal and mandibular prominences
• Universal size: suitable for older children and adults

Structure and materials
Fabrics and foams selected for hygiene, patient comfort and imaging compatibility: PureMed™ cover, AirMesh™ ventilating fabric, off-loading foam, Velcro Strap System™ and VISmemo™ / thermoelastic memory foam in pressure-relieving cushions. The rigid base may include waterproof plywood in its construction.

Instructions: Spray the surface with disinfectant, leave for required contact time, then rinse with water and dry.

Disinfection & maintenance
Clean PureMed™ according to the laundry guide. For coated materials use neutral pH soap (~pH 7) with soft sponge or damp cloth; rub gently and wipe dry. Use a 25% ethanol solution for localized stains if applicable. Do not use domestic cleansers or products recommended for 'eco-leather'.

Usage notes
Designed for immobilization during suspected fractures and for diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT) since no aluminium parts are used. Adjustable components adapt to patient anatomy, swelling or craniofacial injuries.
