TechnologiesCabinets are designed to different safety standards:
- In Class I units, air flows toward the product to be handled and passes through a HEPA filter.
- In Class II, 70% of the air is recycled in the direction of the work area and 30% is vented outside the unit.
- Class III cabinets are completely enclosed. Specimens are handled from without using integrated gloves.
In each case, air vented into the atmosphere is filtered to prevent contamination.
Choice of cabinet class will be determined by the toxicity of the micro-organism to be handled.
