OverviewThe DUSA interface plate provides a leak-free connection between a standard Dose Uniformity Sampling Apparatus (DUSA) and nasal drug products to ensure complete dose capture during Delivered Dose Uniformity (DDU) testing. It is engineered for integration with automated shake-and-fire systems to support routine, automated nasal DDU workflows.
Key benefits- Apparatus compliant with USP Chapter <601> and Ph. Eur. 0676
- Facilitates simple, leak-free connection between DUSA and nasal aerosol devices for full dose recovery
- Designed for automation to improve repeatability and throughput in DDU testing
Automation features (when used with Vertus® III/III+)- Automated nasal spray shaking
- Automated nasal spray actuation
- Automated flow control during sampling
- Automated shot-weight measurement and data capture
Manual testing optionsManual nasal aerosol testing is supported via the Inhaler Testing Workstation (ITW) with a vertical or near-vertical DUSA holder for representative manual DDU tests. A Waste Shot Collector (WSC2) provides vertical fire-to-waste alignment. The Angled Nasal Device Holder (cat. no. 8143) allows selectable firing angles (±45°) for consistent manual device orientation.
Usage and compatibilityThe interface plate is intended as part of a complete system for nasal aerosol DDU testing and is compatible with Copley automation equipment such as the Vertus® III/III+ automated shake-and-fire systems and manual ITW configurations. It supports compliance with compendial standards and streamlines integration into automated DDU test sequences.
