The C306H is an infrared-sensor based water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) test system for medium- and high-barrier materials, designed in accordance with ASTM F1249 and ISO 15106-2. It performs automated WVTR testing on films, sheets and packaging materials across a wide range with high throughput and stable control.
Product Features- Infrared sensor: Labthink-patented infrared sensor delivering an extended measurement range; non-consumable with long service life; built-in over-range warning and automatic protection.
- Accurate data: Dome-shaped test chamber and 360° air-circulation constant-temperature technology for improved temperature stability; each chamber includes a high-precision humidity sensor for real-time monitoring; automated control of gas flow, temperature and relative humidity.
- High efficiency: Six independent test cells with standard area 50 cm² enabling simultaneous testing of six specimens under identical conditions; automatic specimen clamping for consistent clamping force and improved airtightness.
- Intelligent control: 12" touch-screen tablet (Windows 11) with one-click automatic test mode (input temperature and humidity to start); chamber hood opens/closes automatically with audible and visual alerts.
- Safe and reliable: Built-in industrial computer for system security and reliable data storage; multiple intelligent sensors provide operational safety alerts; components from recognized global brands ensure stable performance.
- Space saving: Instrument width approximately one third of traditional six-cell instruments, reducing laboratory footprint.
- Powerful functions: Professional test mode with flexible control options; outputs include WVTR curve, transmission coefficient, temperature and humidity curves; ultra-wide test range with optional extended temperature range.
Test PrincipleThe pre-conditioned specimen is clamped in a test cell. Nitrogen with controlled relative humidity flows on the high-humidity side while dry nitrogen flows on the low-humidity side. Water vapor permeating the specimen is carried by the dry nitrogen to the infrared sensor; the sensor converts signals to water vapor concentration and WVTR is calculated.
