Overview Vivaspin® 2 centrifugal devices enable rapid concentration of protein and nanoparticle samples up to 2 ml (fixed-angle rotor) or 3 ml (swing-bucket rotor). Available with PES, CTA or Hydrosart® membranes, the patented vertical membrane design reduces fouling and a built-in dead-stop pocket maximizes concentrate recovery. Reverse spinning allows simplified recovery into the upper cap for clinical and preparative workflows.
Key features - Starting volume: up to 2 ml (fixed-angle) / 3 ml (swing-bucket)
- Concentration factor: up to 250×
- Membrane options: PES, CTA, Hydrosart® (HY)
- Patented vertical membrane and dead-stop pocket for high recovery
- Compatible with rotors accepting 15 ml (17 mm) conical tubes
Applications - Concentration of urine prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma and amyloidosis
- Concentration of cerebrospinal fluid before electrophoresis for diagnosis of meningitis and multiple sclerosis
- Protein removal from serum and cell/tissue lysates
- Buffer exchange for proteomic peptide samples
- Sample preparation for mass spectrometry
