Description

Product overview
Vivaspin® 20 centrifugal devices enable rapid concentration of protein and nanoparticle samples with starting volumes up to 20 ml. They are compatible with rotors that accept 50 ml centrifuge tubes or can be operated using controlled air pressure. The patented twin-vertical PES membrane design reduces filter fouling and delivers fast spin times, while the built-in dead-stop pocket maximizes concentrate recovery. Selected Vivaspin® 20 variants are IVD-capable and have been used to concentrate urine prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma, light-chain amyloidosis and related hematological disorders. Sebia and Helena Labs recommend Vivaspin® 20 devices for preparing urine samples for their capillary electrophoresis systems.

Key features
Up to 20 ml starting volume
Concentrate up to 400x

Applications
  • Concentration of urine prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma and amyloidosis.
  • Concentration of cerebrospinal fluid prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of meningitis and multiple sclerosis.
  • Protein removal from serum and cell or tissue lysates.
  • Buffer exchange for proteomic peptide samples.
  • Sample preparation for mass spectrometry.
