Product overview
Vivaspin® 4 centrifugal concentrators accept up to 4 ml starting volume and enable concentration factors up to 200×. Designed for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) workflows, the devices use a patented vertical PES membrane to reduce fouling and a built-in dead-stop pocket to maximize concentrate recovery. Widely used to concentrate clinical fluids such as urine and cerebrospinal fluid prior to electrophoresis and mass spectrometry.

Applications

• Concentration of urine prior to gel and immunofixation electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma and light-chain amyloidosis.
• Concentration of cerebrospinal fluid prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of meningitis and multiple sclerosis.
• Protein removal and buffer exchange from serum, cell and tissue lysates.
• Preparation and desalting of proteomic peptide samples for mass spectrometry.

Equipment required
