Testing principle and results

• Testing principle: Gram staining differentiates bacteria based on cell wall properties. The crystal violet–iodine complex is retained by Gram-positive cells (thick peptidoglycan layer) after decolorization, producing a purple coloration; Gram-negative cells are decolorized and counterstained red.
• Stain results: Gram-positive bacteria appear purple; Gram-negative bacteria appear red.
