Product overview

Wright-Giemsa staining solution formulated for automated stainers, intended for use in hospitals, clinics and research institutions. Baso's clear, colourful Wright-Giemsa reagents provide differential staining of blood cells to facilitate morphological identification and diagnostic observation.

Testing principle

This product is developed based on an improved version of the Romanowsky stain technique. The staining process involves penetration and retention of dyes within cellular material through physical adsorption and chemical affinity. Differences in chemical properties of cells and their components lead to variable affinity for the acidic dye (eosin) and the basic dye (methylene blue) in the Wright-Giemsa solution, producing distinct colorations that aid morphological identification.

Stain results

Red blood cells appear pink; cytoplasmic granules of white blood cells are clearly visible and show colors characteristic of each cell type. Cell nuclei stain purple-red with clearly visible chromatin structures.
