Product overviewThe XLS (eXactum Laser Scan Micrometer) series are laser gauges for high-precision dual-axis diameter measurement. Built-in high-performance electronics allow XLS units to operate as stand-alone intelligent diameter sensors or to be integrated into dedicated laser measuring and control systems for on-line process control.
Functional featuresXLS micrometers connect directly to PC, PLC or NC via Ethernet, RS232 or RS485. Any controller or software with these interfaces can receive fast, accurate diameter readings for data logging, process control or integration into customer applications. This connectivity makes XLS suitable for OEMs, system integrators and large-scale installations.
Benefits- Non-contact measurement: suitable for moving, hot or soft parts.
- Wide measuring range: measures different part sizes without pre-setting.
- Insensitive to speed and vibration: enables on-line measurement during production.
- Absolute measurement concept: no zeroing required when diameter changes.
- High gauging speed and small beam spot: detects details missed by contact probes or air rings.
- 100% on-line inspection: supports zero-defect manufacturing.
- Ideal for automatic process regulation: reduces material waste and labor.
- Fast and easy gauging: lowers off-line sampling costs.
- Accurate and reproducible results: independent of operator experience.
