Description
Osteoporosis reduces bone density and cohesion, increasing susceptibility to vertebral compression fractures that cause acute back pain, limited flexion/rotation, loss of height and kyphotic deformity. The professional corrective back orthosis AM-PES-08 is indicated during conservative treatment and rehabilitation of osteoporotic spinal conditions.

Product description
The AM-PES-08 relieves pain after spinal compression fractures and supports functional mobility during treatment of thoracic and lumbar disorders. The orthosis comprises an anatomically shaped ultralight aluminium spine frame, a circumferential abdominal pad and a strap system with Velcro fastenings. The frame features perforations and space-designed geometry to minimise focal compression on vertebrae while worn. Both the frame lining and the abdominal pad are made of breathable Active3D™ material.

The AM-PES-08 adapts to individual back contours and body sizes; its shape can be gently thermoformed when clinically required. Low profile and discreet under clothing, the orthosis promotes activation of paraspinal muscles to reduce dorsal kyphosis, lower the risk of further compression fractures, decrease pain and improve daily function. The circumferentially adjustable abdominal pad maintains intra-abdominal support during increased activity.

Materials and technology
Active3D™ is a thermoformed, closed-cell foam material that reduces pressure and abrasion from stays and aluminium splints, is water-resistant, does not absorb sweat and is easy to clean; it can be thermoformed to achieve functional shaping. MaxComfort™ is a multilayer construction combining skin-friendly knit fabric (OekoTex Standard100 certified), soft polyurethane foam, technical polyethylene foam for structural relief and a technical self-adhesive layer for attaching circumferential bands and components.

Stiffenings and paddings
The spinal frame is manufactured from a specialised aluminium alloy, anatomically contoured with holes and rotary buckles for belt attachment; it is powder-coated and resistant to sweat and water. 3D relief supports use supportive foams or EVA foam bonded with skin-friendly, adhesive-function materials to cushion rigid elements and prevent direct metal-to-skin contact.
