Description

Introduction
Rapid lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Equine Infectious Anemia Virus (EIAV) in horse serum, plasma or whole blood. Designed for on-site veterinary screening and laboratory confirmation workflows.

Product Information
  • Product Name: Eiav Antibody AB Rapid test kit
  • Specimen: Serum, plasma, or whole blood
  • Assay time: 10-15 minutes (read at 5-15 min)
  • MOQ: 800 test kits
  • Delivery time: 1 week after payment is received
  • Packing: 10 test kits per packing box
  • Storage temperature: 2-30°C. DO NOT FREEZE. Protect from direct sunlight.
  • Shelf life: 18 months

Benefits
  • One-step testing from whole blood, serum or plasma, suitable for field sampling.
  • Simple procedure enabling rapid on-site screening without specialized equipment.
  • Fast time-to-result with visible result within 10–15 minutes.
  • High throughput potential (up to ~270 samples/hour under optimal workflow).
  • Compact test format for mobile use and integration with cloud-based quality control systems.
  • Sensitivity comparable to enzyme-labeled assays for reliable screening.

Components
  • Test devices (individually foil-packed)
  • Droppers
  • Single-use buffer
  • Instructions for use (IFU)

Principle
Detection is based on lateral flow immunochromatography. The test cassette contains a membrane with a control (C) line and a test (T) line pre-coated with EIAV antigen. When a prepared sample is added to the sample well, liquid migrates along the membrane. If anti-EIAV antibodies are present, a visible T-line forms. The appearance of the C-line indicates a valid test.

Storage and stability
Store the kit at 2–30°C. Do not freeze. Kits remain stable until the expiration date printed on the package (18 months) if stored as recommended. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Test Procedure
  • Collect fresh whole blood from the horse and separate serum or plasma if applicable. Test as soon as possible after collection.
  • Remove the test device from the foil pouch and place it on a horizontal surface.
  • Add 2–3 drops (approx. 70–100 µL) of serum, plasma or whole blood into the sample well. Start timing.
  • Read the result between 5 and 15 minutes. Results read after 15 minutes are invalid.

Interpretation of assay result
A visible T-line indicates the presence of anti-EIAV antibodies. The C-line must appear for the result to be valid. Absence of a T-line with a visible C-line indicates a negative result. Invalid results (no C-line) require retesting.
