All MediCare Gynae pessaries are a Class IIa Medical Device intended for short-term use (up to 30 days) and self-management.
A Shaatz pessary is typically used to manage mild to moderate uterine prolapse and cystocele in women with adequate vaginal tone. It’s a flexible, disc-shaped pessary that offers support without being bulky, and it’s especially helpful in certain clinical scenarios.
When to Use a Shaatz Pessary:
Mild to Moderate Uterine Prolapse (Stage I–II)
Offers uterine support by resting behind the pubic bone and supporting the cervix.
Cystocele (Bladder Prolapse)
Helps lift and support the bladder when anterior vaginal wall support is needed.
Women with Intact Vaginal Tone
Best suited for patients with adequate pelvic floor strength to retain the pessary.
Patients Needing a Low-Profile Option
Its flatter, more compact shape makes it ideal for women who find larger or more rigid pessaries uncomfortable.
Non-Surgical Candidates or Those Preferring Conservative Treatment
Useful for avoiding or delaying pelvic reconstructive surgery.
