All MediCare Gynae pessaries are a Class IIa Medical Device intended for short-term use (up to 30 days) and self-management.
A ring without support pessary is one of the most commonly used pessary types for mild to moderate pelvic organ prolapse.
When to Use a Ring Without Support Pessary:
Mild to Moderate Uterine Prolapse (Stage I–II)
The ring provides basic support for the uterus or vaginal vault, helping to lift the prolapsed organ back into position.
Cystocele (Bladder Prolapse)
Often used when the bladder prolapse is mild to moderate, offering gentle support to the anterior vaginal wall.
As a First-Line Treatment for Prolapse
Ideal for initial management of prolapse before considering more invasive treatments (e.g., surgery).
It’s often used in non-surgical candidates, such as older adults or those with comorbidities.
Patients with Adequate Vaginal Tone
Works best when the pelvic floor muscles are strong enough to keep the ring in place. It’s suitable for those without severe vaginal laxity or wide vaginal introitus.
Self-Management
Patients can often insert and remove a ring pessary without professional assistance, making it a convenient option for home care.
Used for a first to second degree prolapse complicated by a mild cystocele.
