All MediCare Gynae pessaries are a Class IIa Medical Device intended for short-term use (up to 30 days) and self-management.
A pessary cup without support is a low-profile, flexible pessary used primarily for managing mild to moderate pelvic organ prolapse. Unlike cups with internal support, this type does not have a built-in structure to enhance its support, making it more suitable for less advanced cases.
When to Use a Pessary Cup Without Support:
Mild to Moderate Pelvic Organ Prolapse (Stage I–II)
Ideal for mild uterine prolapse, vaginal vault prolapse, or bladder prolapse (cystocele), where the prolapsed organ needs gentle support but does not require more rigid or extensive support.
Cystocele (Bladder Prolapse)
Provides basic support to the anterior vaginal wall, lifting the bladder in cases where the prolapse is not severe.
Rectocele (Posterior Vaginal Wall Prolapse)
Can help support the posterior vaginal wall in mild cases of rectocele where more robust support is not necessary.
Non-Surgical Candidates or Those Seeking Conservative Management
Excellent for women who want to avoid surgery or those who are not candidates for surgical correction due to age, medical comorbidities, or personal preference.
Women with Adequate Vaginal Tone
Works best in women whose pelvic floor muscles are strong enough to keep the cup in place. It may not be effective for women with very weak vaginal tone or wide vaginal introitus.
Temporary or Short-Term Use
Can be used temporarily in cases where more permanent or invasive treatments are not appropriate or feasible, offering symptom relief during the interim.
