Overview
Pectus excavatum (funnel chest) is a chest wall deformity in which the sternum is depressed. It often progresses during adolescent growth and, in severe cases, can compress the lungs and heart, causing breathing difficulty, fatigue and dizziness. Alongside surgical correction, physiotherapy and orthotic bracing with the EXCAVATUM device are established conservative treatment options.

Product description
The EXCAVATUM brace is designed for conservative treatment of funnel chest. The brace remodels bones and cartilage over time by applying anterior-posterior compression (AP) via an innovative CALIPER BUCKLE system. Aluminum pads are made from lightweight, high-grade aluminum 6061 T6 (material used in aeronautics) to provide stable support. The internal pad surfaces are lined with medical foam to increase comfort over bony prominences. The device is intended for use during adolescence prior to skeletal maturity to optimize remodeling. When used systematically together with prescribed daily exercises, the brace supports correction of chest deformation and can improve respiratory function and circulation.

Contraindications / Warnings
