ABDOMINAL HERNIA SUPPORT
The abdominal wall consists of muscle layers, fascia and ligaments that maintain intra‑abdominal organs. When a layer weakens and intra‑abdominal pressure increases, tissue or an organ can protrude through the defect, causing a reducible or irreducible (incarcerated) hernia. Reducible hernias can be managed conservatively; the OT-12 provides targeted support and gentle containment for such cases.

Product’s description
The OT-12 abdominal hernia support is constructed to mimic skin properties: soft, flexible and resistant to overstretching. It features a wrap‑around design for easy application and a non‑elastic Velcro supplement to maintain reduction of the hernia. The belt is made from ProFit™ double‑layer fabric: an external spandex layer for controlled compression and shock absorption during activity, and an internal microfibre/cotton/elastane layer for breathability and skin comfort. The product provides sustained, physiological compression without restricting respiration and is suitable for prolonged wear, including post‑operative support after procedures such as Caesarean section.

Materials
ProFit™ is a two‑layer elastic fabric. External: spandex for compression and mechanical shock absorption. Internal: microfibre, cotton and elastane for skin contact, breathability and comfort. ProFit™ is skin‑friendly and Oeko‑Tex Standard 100 certified; some variants include an internal elastic cotton layer.

Stiffeners
Lightweight thin ABS plates maintain the circumferential shape of the brace without creating rigid fixation of adjacent body segments. They support shape retention but do not act as joint immobilizers.

Setting up
Fitting and adjustment instructions are supplied (PDF manual and setup document available). Proper sizing and positioning are essential for effective support.
