PCO-T-20 – COMPRESSION TRUNK AND PELVIS BRACE WITH BACK ALUMINUM STAYS AND ZIP FASTENEROverviewThe PCO-T-20 compression trunk brace increases stabilization and postural control for children with neurological disorders and enables postural correction. The orthosis is equipped with a back X-panel which provides people with sensorimotor disorders with postural improvement, stability, precision of movement, joint stabilization and helps prevent muscle contracture. The zip fastening makes it easy to put on and take off the waist.
How the PCO-T-20 trunk brace worksDesigned in collaboration with paediatric physiotherapists, it provides deep core compression and stabilization of muscle tone while relieving spinal muscles. By improving postural control, the somatosensory system is activated, facilitating more effective use of upper and lower limbs in daily activities. Improved core control can also reduce energy expenditure and support greater physical activity.
The orthosis consists of two independent elements that attach together to provide an individual level of core compression. The front part features a zip for easy application; once set the compression level remains constant.
The brace combines stretchable and non-stretchable materials to deliver targeted therapeutic compression to respiratory and core muscles, enhancing posture via proprioceptive feedback. Lateral sections are made of non-stretch attachable material, allowing the posterior component to be positioned freely for individualized compression.
The PCO-T-20 includes posterior anatomically shaped aluminum stays to maintain upright posture and shoulder alignment. External rotation support of the shoulder joints improves upper limb position and hand grip function. A groin strap prevents upward migration of the brace.
