Description

Product overview
Biotage® Initiator+ is a microwave synthesizer platform for fast, reproducible organic synthesis. It supports manual operation and is upgradable to Robot Eight (8 vials) or Robot Sixty (60 vials) automation to match throughput requirements. The system provides rapid heating, controlled pressure handling and flexible vial formats for lab-scale workflows from milligrams to grams.

Key benefits
  • Rapid, reproducible microwave heating to shorten reaction times and reduce solvent use.
  • Modular upgradeability: manual use to 8- or 60-position automation for higher throughput.
  • Large integrated 10.4" touchscreen with Biotage Wizard for guided setup without external PC, keyboard or mouse.
  • Fast heating up to 300 °C (ramp depends on solvent and power).
  • Supports four vial sizes for scalable reactions from milligrams to grams.
  • Triple-tier safety lock and explosion-rated containment for operator protection; high-grade aluminum construction.
  • Capability for higher reactant concentrations to minimise waste.

Operation and interfaces
  • On-board computer with 10.4" diagonal touchscreen and step-by-step guidance.
  • Archiving and backup via USB; printing via Ethernet LAN.
  • No external PC required; complex methods can be run from the integrated interface.

Applications & suitability
  • Multi-user laboratories, library synthesis and scale-out workflows where queuing and hands-free operation are advantageous.
  • Lab-scale synthesis from milligram to gram scale with flexible vial formats and automation options.
