Short description

Description
The test provides rapid, on-site determination of feline blood groups to aid clinical decision-making in veterinary practice and for informed owner management. Early identification of maternal–neonate incompatibility can prevent neonatal hemolysis in nursing kittens. In transfusion situations, accurate blood-type matching reduces risk of adverse reactions. The format is suitable for veterinary clinics, blood donor screening and household monitoring where timely results are required.

How to use?

• Ensure testing at recommended room temperature (15–30°C).
• Use the sampling pipe to collect approx. 10 μL whole blood by capillary action. If hematocrit (Hct) <20%, add an extra 10 μL whole blood to the buffer.
• Peel off the foil seal from the extraction tube containing buffer, insert the sampling end into the tube, seal and mix thoroughly.
• Hold the sampling pipe upright, remove the cap and dispense 3 drops into the specimen well (S) of the test cassette. If the strip does not migrate, add one additional drop.
• Read the result after 10 minutes. Results read after 15 minutes are invalid.

Interpretation of results

• Type A: Colored lines at C and A; no color at B → Type A.
• Type B: Colored lines at C and B; no color at A → Type B.
• Type AB: Colored lines at C, A and B → Type AB.
• Invalid: No colored line in the C region; retest required.
