Description

Dental simulator for training in maxillary sinus elevation and bone grafting

The cross-sectional anatomical model of the skull by Nacional Ossos was developed to meet the needs of instructors, students, and professionals working in implant dentistry, oral surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Ideal for practical training, workshops, hands-on courses, and clinical demonstrations, this simulator allows for the practice of advanced techniques with a high degree of realism, both in face-to-face and distance learning settings.

Manufactured with mechanical properties similar to those of human bone (type 2), it features a maxillary sinus with a flexible membrane, an exposed temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and zygomatic, auricular, and occipital bones, providing a complete anatomical view for teaching and explaining concepts to students and patients.

Its key feature is the open maxillary sinus, which allows for the insertion of a quail egg to realistically simulate a maxillary sinus lift. The protective foam and acrylic bases ensure stability and safety during training.

The maxilla contains teeth 11, 12, 14, 18, 24, 26, and 27, with a recent extraction and a defect in the buccal alveolar bone in the region of tooth 13, as well as bone resorption in areas 21, 22, 23, and 25.

The mandible features teeth 34, 31, 41, 42, 44, and 47, with a simulated recent extraction showing a bone defect in the region of tooth 43 and an intact alveolus with granulation tissue at tooth 32.

The articulated support allows the mouth to be opened, closed, and tilted, enabling students to work with both hands
