Overview
The breast biopsy phantom for ultrasound-guided procedures enables practice of multiple biopsy techniques under ultrasound guidance. Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), core-needle biopsy (CNB) and Mammotome biopsy can be performed under ultrasound control. The phantom reproduces the realism of breast tissues by simulating gland softness and resistance. Colored targets allow confirmation of successful sampling and are placed on three depth levels to practise needle access at different angles and depths.

Available versions

• Transparent: for direct visualization and eye–hand coordination training (basic level)
• Opaque: for acquisition of advanced ultrasound-guided biopsy skills (advanced level)

Use and advantages
Economical phantom, reusable for multiple attempts before replacement. Enables training of puncture and sampling techniques under ultrasound with visual confirmation of the sample thanks to the colored targets.
