OverviewThe mammography accreditation phantom is designed to test the overall performance of a mammography system and its ability to image small clinically relevant structures: microcalcifications, fibers and simulated masses. It reproduces a compressed breast 42 mm thick, composed of materials equivalent to 50% glandular tissue and 50% adipose tissue.
Wax insert and simulated objects- Nylon fibers: 1.56 / 1.12 / 0.89 / 0.75 / 0.54 / 0.40 mm
- Microcalcifications (Al2O3): 0.54 / 0.40 / 0.32 / 0.24 / 0.16 mm
- Simulated masses: 2.00 / 1.00 / 0.75 / 0.50 / 0.25 mm
Accessories and deliverablesThe phantom also includes a PMMA contrast disk (10 mm diameter, 4 mm thickness). It is supplied with a transport case and a user manual containing detailed procedures for performing, evaluating and recording tests.
