Product Description PRL (prolactin, PRL) is a protein hormone secreted by the pituitary, consisting of 199 pcs of amino acid residues and three pairs of disulfide bond, with a molecular weight of about 23,000 Daltons. Its structure is similar to growth hormone (secreted from the pituitary gland ) and human placental lactogen. PRL is mainly to promote breast growth and development, cause and maintain lactation. Breast development in female puberty is mainly due to estrogen stimulation, while progesterone and growth hormone also act synergistically. During pregnancy, PRL, human chorionic growth hormone, progestin, estrogen make the further development of breast tissue. As the estrogen and progesterone concentration is too high, they compete with PRL for the mammary cell receptors L, so prolactin is ineffective.
