Heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) detection kit (CLIA) (hereinafter referred to as the kit) is used for the in vitro quantitative determination of H-FABP content in human serum. It is used for early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction.
Product Description
INTENDED USE:
The kit has been designed for the quantitative determination of Heart-fatty Acid-binding Protein in human serum.
The method can be used for samples over the range of 2.5-100.0 ng/mL.
Heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) is a kind of new small cytoplasmic protein in the heart. It is highly cardiac specific (i.e. mainly expressed in cardiac tissues), but a small amount can also be found in the tissue outside of the heart. When myocardial ischemic injury occurs, H-FABP can be found in the blood as early as in the first 1-3 hours after the onset of chest pain, and in 6-8 hours, it will reach peak, then plasma levels return to normal within 24-30 hours. H-FABP comprises 132 pcs of amino acids, with a molecular weight of 15kDa. H-FABP gene is located on chromosome I, which is the most abundant protein in heart. H-FABP binds with two pcs of fatty acid molecule and is involved in the transport of fatty acyl coenzyme A. It is active in the oxidation process and produce energy in the mitochondria.
