What does shoulder injury in children mean?
Pediatric shoulder injuries differ from adult injuries due to the presence of growth plates and developing bone structures. Typical mechanisms include falls on an outstretched hand (FOOSH), which can cause dislocations, glenoid labrum tears, joint instability or growth plate–related conditions such as Little League Shoulder. Clinical signs include swelling, pain and limited range of motion.

Immediate care follows the RICE principle (rest, ice, compression, elevation). The Kids shoulder immobilizer AM-KOB provides reliable immobilization and protection of the upper limb to support the healing process.

What is Kids shoulder immobilizer AM-KOB?
Kids shoulder immobilizer AM-KOB is an anatomically shaped brace for upper limb immobilization. The device is made of AirDistance™, an airy 3-layer fabric composed of perforated comfort foam and two durable non-elastic polyamide layers that allow air and moisture migration, helping to keep skin dry and ventilated. The construction enables easy bilateral attachment for precise fitting.

The Dessault bandage design includes a special ribs belt to keep the arm adducted and internally rotated, preventing involuntary abduction and facilitating healing of fractures or dislocations.

A forearm sling provides additional stabilization and elbow immobilization for extensive injuries. The sling uses a Velcro closure for quick opening during supervised passive or active exercises prescribed by a physician or physiotherapist.
