Ankle fracture (summary)
Ankle fracture in children involves one or more bones of the ankle joint (commonly tibia and/or fibula). Growth plates are particularly vulnerable; even minor torsional trauma can cause significant injury. Sports with rapid twisting or jumping increase the risk of fractures.

Materials
AM-OSS-03/CCA is manufactured from ActiveSpace™ and AeroSpace™ fabrics. ActiveSpace™ is a 3D spacer polyamide lamination providing high skin ventilation, lightweight, non-elastic two-layer construction with free air flow and low moisture absorption. AeroSpace™ is a distance-elastic 3D knitted fabric (polyester yarn + spandex) with an openwork structure for sweat drainage, breathability, low weight, flexibility and cushioning for mounted splints.

BOA® Fit System
The brace is equipped with a BOA® Fit System (CCA) that provides secure, non-elastic fastening via polyamide grommets, steel wires with plastic covering and adjustment knobs. The system allows quick, precise adjustment, multiple compression levels and is resistant to accidental loosening unless damaged.

Additional features

• Figure-8 straps to increase support and limit range of motion; straps include finger handles for easy child-operated adjustment
• Anatomically shaped lateral ABS pads for enhanced frontal stabilization and protection against external forces
• Suitable as protective support in sport or as partial immobilization after contusion; compatible with most sport shoes
• Semi-rigid lateral ABS pads combined with the CCA compression system offer an effective alternative to plaster cast in selected cases
