Wrist sprain
Wrist sprain is a common injury among children, usually caused by a fall on an outstretched arm leading to hyperextension and damage to soft tissues and ligaments. Swelling, pain and limited mobility occur. Splinting, ice and rest are recommended; the paediatric wrist brace AM-OSN-L-01 is designed for this purpose.

PRODUCT’S DESCRIPTION
The brace has a design providing wrist support. Children wrist splint AM-OSN-L-01 keeps the wrist in a neutral position required for proper healing. The splint is made of the innovative textile AirSanmed II™. AirSanmed II™ is a multi-layered intelligent orthopedic fabric: washable, perforated and laminated with off-loading foam and soft comfort foam, laminated with breathable cotton certified OekoTex Standard100 and skin-friendly. The fabric reduces pressure of aluminum stays and splints and ensures breathability and comfort.

The paediatric wrist brace includes a malleable aluminum palm splint which maintains the hand in neutral position and prevents dorsal and palmar flexion. The splint immobilizes the wrist, offering neutral joint position for healing after fracture or injury. The palmar part involves fingers II-V and offers their proper position; the brace is equipped with a wraparound metacarpal strap preventing involuntary finger flexion. The dorsal side of the forearm is immobilized with two orthopaedic stays preventing brace sliding. Velcro closures provide a wide range of circumferential adjustment and allow use in case of hand and forearm swelling. The brace is easy to apply and remove for skin and tissue inspection and may be used in case of Volkmann contracture.
