OverviewFLEX VISCO combines a proprietary overhead gravimetric dispensing system with dedicated software to automate sample dispensing and viscosity measurement for low-to-high viscosity liquids, pastes and melted waxes. Measurements can be performed directly in formulation vessels or in sample vials. The system integrates automated container handling, controlled sample conditioning (e.g. temperature) and spindle cleaning/drying to support repeatable measurements. All process parameters are logged for traceability and downstream analysis.
WorkflowTypical automated sequence with the FLEX VISCO:
- Select formulation vessel or sample vial
- Open sample container
- Gravimetrically dispense material into vial
- Measure viscosity using configured geometry
- Clean spindle
- Dry spindle
- Close sample container
Benefits- Fully automated, unattended viscosity measurement
- Typical cycle time: ~3 minutes per sample
- Reduced cost per sample (up to 90% reported)
- Higher throughput (up to 10× increase)
- Comprehensive data logging: dispensed amount, mixing speed, temperature, time
- Consistent sample conditioning for quality control
- Data export and interface for Excel and other software; integration options for DOE and AI
- Expandable workflows: viscosity adjustment, density, pH, mixing, powder dispensing and additional modules
