Description
Canine Parvovirus infection (CPI) is an important infectious disease of canines and weasels caused by Canine parvovirus (CPV) infection and characterised by severe enteritis syndrome and myocarditis syndrome. The disease occurs worldwide, with high morbidity and mortality in puppies. Canine Coronavirus infection is also a highly contagious intestinal disease of dogs, which is mainly caused by Canine Coronavirus (CCV), which mainly attacks the mature epithelial cells of the intestinal tract, presenting as acute gastroenteritis syndrome, with clinical signs such as depression, vomiting, diarrhoea and loss of appetite.
The symptoms include depression, vomiting, diarrhoea and loss of appetite. The disease is highly susceptible, usually between 2 and 4 months of age, but dogs of all ages can be infected under stress. The disease can be contracted alone or in combination with rotavirus and canine microvirus, but the mortality rate is higher in combination infections and is often greater than in single infections.
In recent years, mixed infections of canine microvirus and coronavirus have been frequently found in sick dogs admitted to veterinary hospitals. In clinical practice, the diagnosis of mixed infections of CPV and CCV is based on clinical symptoms, epidemiology, blood tests and faecal antigen detection.
