Description

Short description
SaberVet Canine Anaplasma Antibody Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunoassay for qualitative detection of antibodies to Canine Anaplasma (C.ANA) in canine serum, plasma or whole blood. The test supports rapid screening and point-of-care decision-making in veterinary settings.

Product overview
Anaplasmosis (infection by Anaplasma species) is a tick‑borne haemoparasitic infection affecting erythrocytes. In dogs the course can be chronic or acute; early signs may be nonspecific and, with disease progression, clinical features can include fever, anaemia, weight loss and, in severe cases, death. Haematology typically shows decreased erythrocyte count, packed cell volume and haemoglobin.

Clinical signs and transmission
Common clinical presentations: acute or chronic fever, anaemia, wasting and systemic signs. Primary transmission is via hard ticks; other blood‑sucking insects can occasionally act as vectors. Risk increases in tick‑infested environments and during peak tick activity (often late summer to early autumn).

Clinical diagnosis
Reference diagnostics include blood smear microscopy (Giemsa), immunofluorescence assays and PCR. Microscopy sensitivity is limited at low parasitaemia; immunofluorescence and PCR are laboratory‑standard methods. Rapid lateral flow testing provides qualitative results in under 10 minutes to support timely clinical decisions in clinic and field contexts.

Control measures
Recommended measures: avoid tick habitats, implement ectoparasite control, isolate and treat confirmed animals, and apply appropriate antimicrobial therapy (doxycycline is effective; penicillin/streptomycin are not effective against anaplasmosis).

Production & quality
Manufactured in China in a CE, ISO 13485 and GMP certified facility. Each batch undergoes consistency testing, quality control and full traceability documentation.
