Orthopedic simulator for training in endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery (MIS) of the lumbar spine
The Lumbar Model ESS © from Nacional Ossos was developed to meet the needs of instructors, students, and specialists in Orthopedics/Traumatology and Neurosurgery who work with percutaneous techniques, spinal endoscopy, decompression procedures, and image-guided navigation.
Ideal for hands-on training, workshops, courses, in-office demonstrations, and distance learning, this simulator enables the practice of endoscopic approaches and MIS procedures with a high degree of realism, both in in-person and distance learning settings.
Featuring skin, muscle layer, periosteum, ligaments (flavum ligament and posterior longitudinal ligament), spinal canal with dura mater, vascular simulation, herniated disc (annulus/nucleus), nerve supply, and adipose tissue, as well as a radiopaque structure for use with X-rays, CT scans, and navigation-guided surgery, the model enables safe, repetitive, and highly educational training with real surgical instruments.
It includes a real-time lateral orientation map and a USB drive with images, surgical videos, and CT scans, accelerating the learning process.
It offers 20 access points/surgeries:
- 5 Posterior interlaminar – right side
- 5 Posterior interlaminar – left side
- 5 Lateral transforaminal – right side
- 5 Lateral transforaminal – left side
